Negotiations Update:
We have visited Vista, Central, Skyline, and Custer. Tomorrow the Science Department invited us to their meeting and next week we will be at Cascadia. Bargaining Forums are scheduled at Horizon February 24th at 4:00. Sometime in February or March we will ask you to take the time to complete a bargaining survey. Thank you for inviting us and sharing your concerns. Please become a fan of Ferndale Education Association on Facebook for more meeting dates. Also, make sure your building rep has your current email address.

Levy News:
What a great turn out for our phone bank on Saturday! We have 3 more scheduled and could really use more help on all shifts Feb 6th for the reminder to turn in ballot calls. Ballots will be mailed on the 20th, so now is the time to wave signs and visit with community members. Please consider supporting the levy. The levy pays for what the state does not fund (20% of the district budget).

Calendar Representatives:
By Feb 1st, Representatives of the District and the Association will need to meet to develop 2 calendar options for FEA members to vote on (p.45 of the Bargaining Agreement). At the last school board meeting the Ferndale School Board set parameters for the calendar. 1) school will not start in August and 2) there will be no week long mid-winter break.
Your FEA Representatives are Jay Sozanski(Vista), Chelsea Bell(Cas/MtV), and Joel Wark(FHS). Thank you very much for volunteering to serve on this committee.

Semester Workday:
The Semester Workday is a non contracted day. The high school needs this day to switch over classes and start the new semester. In the past, elementary could attend a district professional development training opportunity. This year the district gave the time to the building to use on building goals. Please contact your principal if you need to know what is required of you for the 10.5 hours (PRS).
